Research Fellow
PayRate: $34.49/HR

CorTech is looking to hire a Research Fellow in Wauwatosa, WI.

Job Responsibilities
Develop new platform technologies for hot-melt adhesives (HMA) and pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA).
Design and perform lab-scale experiments to screen new classes of raw materials; compile analytical data, document observations, and summarize findings.
Closely monitor IP landscape and continually review technical literature to identify novel routes to generate or modify polymers and other raw materials for HMA/HMPSA systems.
Develop structure/property relationships and physically-meaningful, data-based models to predict adhesion performance and physical properties of new HMA/HMPSA systems.
Characterize physical and mechanical properties of adhesives using various analytical techniques.
Propose, design, and direct programs with external R&D teams to develop new raw material options for next generation adhesives.
Document results in electronic lab notebook and summarize findings in written reports.
Perform job hazard assessments and develop best practices for lab procedures.
Maintain lab equipment; ensure lab area is clean and well organized.
Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Bostik specific environmental, health, and, safety expectations.

Job Requirements
Ph.D. in chemistry, polymer or material science with extensive experience in organic synthesis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to describe results of studies within Bostik global R&D community as well as to business teams.
High intellectual curiosity and excellent problem solving skills.
Willingness to take direction, but also work both independently and as a part of a collaborative team.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
