Cortech is excited to parner with our premier client in the food manufacturing industry in their search for a talented R&I Technician!
Rate- $29.
4/hr
Location- Louisville, KY


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this position.


• Clean, organize and restock product development labs
• Weigh ingredients and lead pilot plant trials independently
• Track and restock ingredients and supplies for the labs and pilot plants
• Provide support in lab scale experiments
• Provide support to clean and put away dishes after meetings and tastings
• Setup team tastings and capture relevant notes in a timely and well-organized manner
• Support shelf life studies and product samples storage (analytical and sensory testing)
• Provide assistance for packing, shipping and receiving products (locally and internationally)
• Support developers in cleaning and organizing coolers and storage areas
• Support developers in documentation and records
• Other duties to support product and package development as assigned

PREFERRED CANIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• Minimum 1 years of experience in manufacturing/lab environment.

from a 4 year college or university is a plus but not required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Basic understanding of food safety and handling procedures
• Basic understanding of lab safety rules and procedures
• Basic understanding of food science
• Basic understanding of formulations and specification systems
• Ability to read and analyze experimental and process designs to reach a desired outcome
• Ability to write and communicate observations and test summaries
• Must be well organized and have a positive attitude
• Must have good communication skills (written and verbal), the ability to multitask and the desire to take initiative
• Must have a profession demeanor and be punctual and reliable
• Must be proficient in word, excel and have internet searching capabilities
• Must be willing to clean and organize
• Must work well as part of a team but also be able to function on an individual basis
• Must be able to work with confidential materials and subsequently maintain an appropriate level of professionalism
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
Weekends not included.

• Strong organization skills with ability to manage workflow and prioritize multiple tasks with limited direct supervision
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge in statistical software – i.

Minitab is a plus.
Knowledge of formulation software is a plus
• International shipping and regulatory exposure are a plus
• Solid technical and theoretical knowledge of process engineering and manufacturing scale up (bench scale to pilot scale and/or full manufacturing)

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee is also required to be able to taste and smell various food products and detect various attributes including taste, odor, and/or texture.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a lab and pilot plant environment where the noise level is usually moderate, but can be high.
