JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
Underwrite SBA guaranteed loans and ensure that the SBA SOP guidelines and GBC’s credit culture are met.
Conduct financial spread and cash flow analysis.
Conduct SBA term loan review and propose risk rating upgrade/downgrade if applicable.
Package and close SBA guaranteed loans as a team.
Keep the SOP up-to-date and provide SBA guidance and assistance to other Underwriters, Credit Analyst, Processors and Lending Officers.
Send out credit covenants reminders to SBA loan customers for collecting tax returns and financials for term loan review.
Prepare and/or coordinate for SBA Desk Audit and PLP renewal.
Comply with all BSA related training and procedures.
Other assignments as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements
7+ years' SBA underwriting experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent from a 4-year college or university; 7 years or more of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of SBA underwriting duties with a financial institution. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, are business or financial industry related.

Knowledge:
Advanced level of work experience, knowledge and training in all SBA loan servicing activities and terminology, including SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of packaging, originating, and underwriting SBA loans.
Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and colleagues.
