JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing/Clinical Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of direct resident care services. Serves as a core member of the interdisciplinary client care team. Has the necessary authority to assess, plan, evaluate and teach in patient situations. Carries out administrative responsibilities as delegated by Director of Nursing or Clinical Manager.EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota. Participates in educational conferences and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related areas of responsibilities. Certificate must be maintained according to American Heart Association Standards. Attends all mandatory departmental meetings and in-services.POSITION ACCOUNTABLE FOR: All nursing care behaviors described in Registered Nurse Job Description. Maintains clinical competency in specific area of employment. Maintains a level of physical and mental health required to meet the needs of the position. Patient care staff must be skilled in caring for patients in the following age groups: Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, GeriatricC.A.R.E. The Avera Standard of Service ExcellenceCOMMUNICATION Be an effective communicator. Keep individuals informed Protect privacy and confidentiality. Use established scripting. Convey clear, concise and accurate information. Speak kindly and positively about patients, residents, visitors and co-workers.ATTITUDE Demonstrate compassion. Demonstrate hospitality. Demonstrate stewardship. Treat each individual as the most important person.RESPONSIVENESS Follow through and follow up. Own service recovery. Anticipate and respond to individual's needs. Anticipate and correct problems before they become complaints. Look for opportunities toENGAGEMENT Own each situation. Demonstrate commitment to co-workers. Be innovative, find solutions. Collaborate with others to deliver the highest quality care or service.
