JOB DESCRIPTION :

SUMMARY: Nursing Services at Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital requires all nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in her/his role as an RN. The Staff RN is responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process to provide nursing care for the patient. He/She assumes responsibility and accountability for her/his individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered on his/her shift.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university school of nursing preferred. 1 year of acute care experience required. ER experience preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required. CPR completion required. BLS, ACLS required at hire. PALS, TNCC, ENPC required within 6 months of hire. SKILLS and ABILITIES PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL/REASONING: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret various laboratory testing results. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism. RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS: Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers. Must utilize effective problem solving skills as appropriate. Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital (LJHM) and its services in a positive manner to all customers. Supports LJMH through the daily

Shift: 12 hour shifts, Rotating Days and Nights, Every 3rd Weekend
