Systems Engineer I Pasadena, CA 1st shift, 9/80 Work Schedule Job Summary: As the Systems Engineer, you are responsible for the development, planning, and negotiation of specific Deep Space Network (DSN) resources for multiple flight missions. You will attend mission-planning meetings to gain an understanding of mission requirements and to resolve mission-specific issues; integrate the knowledge of mission and spacecraft requirements with tracking scheduling requirements; interact frequently with internal and external mission engineers, scientists, and all levels of management to ensure that mission requirements are met; and communicate final DSN resource allocations with mission personnel. In addition, you will assist with providing solutions to technical and engineering problems as they relate to scheduling the DSN, determining specific mission DSN resource allocations that meet project sequencing or other project-specific needs, computing and analyzing multi-mission DSN scheduling data, negotiating with other mission operations engineers to finalize DSN resource allocations, and developing and delivering the mission tracking schedule and displaying it in graphical format. Responsibilities: Gain an understanding of mission DSN tracking requirements. Compute and analyze multi-mission DSN scheduling data and negotiate with other system engineers to finalize the DSN tracking schedule. Interact frequently with mission engineers, scientists, and all levels of management. Deliver error-free products to the spacecraft team. Provide solutions to technical and engineering problems as they relate to scheduling the DSN. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, or related technical discipline. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with peers. Ability to prioritize work to meet commitments with high-quality products. Desired Skills: Experience in Python programming
