Sawmill Manager JOS2004 - SC
Starting base salary: $75-110K

Summary
The Sawmill Manager will be in charge of directing and managing all sawmill and sticking operations, with overall responsibility for safety, quality, employee hiring and training, maintenance, and other production-related activities.
Accurately direct and manage all sawmill operations while striving to continuously improve mill performance in all areas.

Responsibilities
Maintain a preventative maintenance plan aimed at eliminating or reducing downtime while keeping costs under control.

Coordination of mill activities and lumber sales is required to ensure that total manufacturing objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsible for ensuring that all company assets are used and cared for properly.
To achieve the company's goals and objectives, you must provide leadership and training.

Ensure the mill's safety by training employees in safe practices and removing or controlling safety hazards.
Maintain the mill in accordance with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, and be aware of OSHA regulations.

Encourage and foster a positive sense of morale among employees.
Talent should be evaluated and developed at all levels of mill operation.
Collaborate with a larger network of managers to coordinate and achieve overall company objectives.

In charge of operating expenses, manpower, wages, and mill worker salaries.
Set and monitor overall plant performance in terms of production and quality standards.
Monitor sawing of lumber to ensure logs are used for their highest and best use and waste is minimized.

Requirements
Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workforce respectfully
5+ years of related management work experience desired
A leader who is adaptable, flexible, and team-oriented.

Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
4 years degree preferred, but not required
