The client is searching for candidates for a new Senior Accountant role to drive financial development across the business while effectively handling routine entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and month-end close. Key initiatives include planning and development of financial analysis reporting tools and identification of profit growth opportunities and threats to serve as a trusted adviser to the business. Successful Candidates Will Have The Following
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or a commensurate combination of training and experience
- 3 years of experience in the development of tools for financial planning and analysis; some examples of tools used: are Excel, D365 BC, Produce Pro, Fusionware, and Prophix.Pysgen
Accountabilities
- Contributes to the integrity of accounting information personally handled, by accurate and on-time recording, reconciling, consolidating, reporting and advising.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries; researches and reconciles discrepancies.
- Prepares and analyzes financial statements and elevates urgent issues to management consistently advising on opportunities and threats.
- Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepares comparative income statements and changes in financial position; compares and analyzes results to budget and forecast.
- Assists in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management.
- Coordinates fixed asset additions and disposals with 3rd party partners.
- Prepares documentation for external auditors and coordinates annual audits.
- Develops accurate reports, charts, graphs, and dashboards according to established schedules and as requested using various sources in support of planning, measuring, and reporting business function performance and identifying opportunities to improve profitability through cost efficiency.
- Assists with a variety of financial activities including sales and margin forecasting, analysis of customer margins, costs, key balance sheet metrics, and financial risk avoidance.
- Provides analytical support for the finance department and cross-functional business units pertaining to budgets, system integration projects, treasury activities, merger and acquisition transactions, and special projects as needed.
- Upholds Corporate Finance brand as a trusted business partner and champion, ensuring information is complete, accurate, timely, and relevant, and finance is represented as a unified team.
- Conducts data quality checks and tests system performance across multiple areas of the business to develop accurate financial reports and elevate concerns that could lead to business risk.
- Assists in the development of presentations for executive management.
- During periods of high volume, support the FP&A manager and other general finance functions such as account reconciliations, journal entries, preparation of financial statements, supporting schedules audit schedules, backlog, and quarterly footnotes.
- Develops written summaries to support the financial information presented.
- Develops process and procedure and supporting documentation for area of responsibility maintaining a means for others to efficiently retrieve data during periods of absence.
