Job Title: Senior Business Analyst
Location: Orange County, CA, with work from home option

Employment type: W2 Hire/Permanent

Role

Versatile Sr. Business Analyst for strategic enterprise applications including custom software. The Sr. Business Analyst will work with business leaders, end-users, and development, QA, and other technical teams.

Position responsibilities

The Sr. Business Analyst will

  • According to business priorities and technology roadmaps, independently work with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into a clear and complete solution and feature designs and specifications for the development team. Work with the business to ensure that the solution meets business requirements.
  • Advise and interact with the development team to provide clarification, validate assumptions, and ensure that the development team correctly understands designs and specifications with minimal risk of rework.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to design testing requirements (expected results).
  • Assist the QA teams to test and validate delivered solutions in various stages of maturity and completeness from early proof-of-concept versions to User Acceptance Testing and post-implementation validation.
  • Contribute draft content for end-user communication and training.
  • Provide thought leadership in best practices, general business analysis, and business process enablement.
  • Experience and Qualifications

    The Sr. Business Analyst will have the following minimum experience and qualifications.

    • Experience
      • Five to seven years of experience as a Business Analyst on complete systems and applications with responsibility for the design and specification of holistic solutions, including strong solution experience.
      • Three to five years of experience working as a Business Analyst with large-scale systems such as SalesForce, NetApp, or other large-scale ERP systems with diverse user communities.
      • Leading two or more Agile/Scrum projects from inception to implementation
      • Experience working with hybrid (internal and external) development teams.
    • Subject Matter Expertise
      • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain processes including configure-price-quote, order-to-cash, and procurement business processes, with data flows / integrations (EDI, etc.) between internal and external applications and processes, and with external partners.
      • Process and knowledge management tools, especially Atlassian Confluence and JIRA
      • Mockup, design, and diagramming tools such as MS-Visio, Balsamiq, etc.
      • Mainstream productivity software (MS-Office, including strong Excel skills)
      • Database and data management concepts; ability to execute simple SQL queries for data profiling, report validation, and problem-solving.
      • Ability to read and interpret JSON objects.
      • Understanding and practical experience of system development and quality management best practices
    • Other Requirements
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Ability to provide key contributions to a small team with both independence and mutual support; strong teamwork orientation and ability to form productive business relationships with all stakeholders.
      • Self-starter: Ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment, responding to multiple demands, going beyond the formally assigned role as needed while keeping key priorities on schedule
      • Critical thinker and creative problem solver; Ability to discern key aspects and root causes of complex problems, explain them in everyday terms, and offer effective, practical solutions.
      • Ability to overcome the noise and get to the heart of the matter, through clear and purposeful questions, thoughtful analysis, and follow-up.
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Information Systems, or other relevant discipline
