Job Description: Job Title: Senior Web Designer (Java) Location: Wilkes Barre, PA Designs and builds web sites using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools. Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements. Contributes to the design groups efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organizations on-line offerings. Designs the website to support the organizations strategies and goals relative to external communications. Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code (such as HTML, XML, and Javascript) for components of the website. Works with graphic designers and other members of a project team to develop the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website. Responsible for interface implementation. Performs all functional duties independently. Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s). Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job. "Strong knowledge of one or more of the following skillsets: Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
JAVA 10++ years experience, Moderate SQL experience, additional PYTHON experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Assist team with preparation of cost estimates
Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc)
Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)" " A minimum of ten (10) years experience in software development, with at least 7 years experience in Web-based design/development;
A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred;
Able to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program;
Able to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job;
Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel;
Extensive knowledge of and experience with designing and building Web-based software systems;
Extensive experience designing and developing user interface features, site animation and special effects elements;
Extensive experience with at least two graphics software applications, along with relevant design techniques and tools;
Extensive experience collaborating with other Web designers/developers to enhance Web site look-and-feel to support the organizationac#39;s external communication strategies and goals;
Possesses strong navigation and site design instincts;
Extensive experience collaborating in a team environment to develop a Web site concept, interface design and architecture, and then to design and develop software (e.g. Javascript, HTML, XML, etc) to implement the solution;
Able to obtain Postal clearance;
Excellent communication skills."
