JOB DESCRIPTION:

As one of two Operations Supervisors, the position’s purpose is to supervise and coordinate activities of
workers operating a variety of machines, inspecting, assembly, and packaging of manufactured parts and/or
products.

The Supervisor’s role is to provide efficient and effective direction and leadership of the day-to-day
operation of the manufacturing staff while meeting all regulatory requirements and overall business needs in
this area. The incumbent will supervise assigned staff in various departments with particular attention to
safety, production scheduling/staffing, training and the like including but not limited to:

Safety
? Ensure compliance with procedures during specific shift
? Resolve hazardous conditions when identified
? Lead initiatives to reduce hazards and improve department environment
? Conduct Safety meetings for shift
? Practice social distancing at all time while at work
? Immediately address personnel social distancing concerns on they occur
? Enforce social distancing standard work in production work areas
? Be present in high traffic areas at shift change
? Lead social distance improvement projects
? Escalate recurring issues to your supervisor

Drive improvement in Department Quality performance
? Identify products and processes which are prone to defect generation
? Communicate and reinforce standards to shift staff
? Contribute ideas and concepts to improve product quality and error proofing
? Drive problem solving to root cause correction
? Audit and inspect product attributes as necessary to reinforce their value

Drive Performance
? Ensure compliance with work rules
? Adjust shift staff as necessary to meet dept. & customer commitments; on time delivery.
? Communicate metrics and objectives to shift staff using visual management tools (ex. Production
control board)
? Maintain accurate production and timekeeping records

World Class manufacturing
? Understand and utilize SMED concepts
? Drive maintenance and improvement in workplace organization striving for 5S
? Drive ownership of housekeeping to hourly employee level
? Participate in 4 Kaizen events per year
? One improvement project charter per month
Develop new team members
? Participate in recruitment of new talent
? Teach good, sound practices to new team members
? Evaluate training program effectiveness at specified intervals.


Qualifications

? 2 year degree (preferred) plus supervisory experience or equivalent work history; preferably
in a manufacturing environment
? Proficient in MS Office applications and experience with various software platforms
including MRP, time and attendance
? Experience in an industrial setting working with operations, maintenance, quality and
planning functions
? Experience executing projects on a timeline
