SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:

The PlantPAx Checklist developer produces an application or multiple applications which will automate the entry of information into the PlantPAx Checklist. Currently, filling out the PlantPAx Checklist is a manual process whereby the customer, System Integrator, or delivery/field-service/tech-support engineer follows the procedures to traverse through the PlantPAx Distributed Control System) DCS finding information and entering the information into a Microsoft Excel Workbook. We desire to improve the usability of the Checklist by automating all or portions of the procedure.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand the existing procedure of the checklist – there are 2 versions for reference:
o Older version for PlantPAx 4.6 and earlier here: PROCES-UM004 only shown for clarify here since the procedure is fully contained in this document and more explicitly documented.
o The current version of the checklist is integrated into the PlantPAx user manual PROCES-UM100. This is the version that should be automated, though 80% is similar/the same as the older version.
• Break down the Checklist into manageable pieces in order to allow for modular programming and support.
• Automate portions of the Checklist by using modern code or scripting mechanisms.
• The output scripts or executables should allow an engineer to complete the checklist information faster and with less manual work than manually gathering and entering the information into the checklist spreadsheet.
• Bring creative suggestions for automating the information gathering and resultant presentation of the data.
• Develop code or scripting in modern IDE environment e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows Powershell, Python, etc.)
• Generate creative solutions to the problem of gathering data and information from the PlantPAx DCS for recording.


Interpersonal
• Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
• Clearly communicate with peers and management.
• Provide regular status updates.
• Work with individuals outside immediate team across a matrixed organization.
• Possess solid training and presentation skills.

Essential Functions

Education Requirements
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent education

Required Experience and Skills
• 5+ years of experience in a software development position
• 1+ years of proven application of Python programming language
• Windows and Linux operating systems experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Office

Desired Experience and Skills
• Experience with HTML or SQL Server for reporting/data storing
• Experience with the PlantPAx DCS
