Software Engineer (Silverlight, SQL Server, WCF) 

Location: Kansas City

Type: Contract Only 

Duration: 6-mos.+ 

 

Interview notes; 

The interview would likely be an hour panel interview with myself and several lead developers here at HRB. The structure of that would be 30 min verbal interview and 30 min skills assessment. I would anticipate the rolls to be at least 10 months, but I'm sure as you know they have the potential to extend beyond that. 

 

Summary of the job: 

  • Developing new feature functionality in HRB's legacy retail tax preparation software. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Developing against defined acceptance criteria in user stories related to new financial product being built out in our tax preparation software. 

 

Required skills/experience/education: 

  • Recent experience (i.e., within the past 3 years) working with Microsoft Silverlight 
  • SQL server / relational database experience 

 

Preferred (nice to have) skills/experience education: 

  • WCF
