  • The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, detailing technical requirements, crafting, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm.
  • Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and improvement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that tackle sophisticated business problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop applications in compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
  • Designs and implements UI solutions following Client's defined architectural guidelines and control standards
  • Analyzes and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost-effective solution for a new or existing design
  • Handles and triages application issue escalations as well as able to collaborate closely with clients / operations
  • Proficient with agile development practices like Scrum, Kanban
  • Provides support to functional and performance QA teams as part of each agile sprint.
  • Construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements (code coverage).
  • Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
  • Build and maintain system documentation
  • Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
  • Contribute to the design of components or individual programs
  • Provide production support for applications as needed
  • Work with domain experts reviewing technical designs and specifications
  • Apply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs
  • Work with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; raises appropriately

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of design and development of external/internal facing web-based applications.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Able to demonstrate capabilities in the following subject areas:
  • Object oriented design patterns
  • Front-end web UI-tier (Backbone, Angular, Java)
  • Cloud native technologies
  • TDD & BDD
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Tomcat/J2EE servlet container and AWS cloud services
  • Hands-on DevOps experience using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Cloud bees/Jenkins, Maven, Ansible
  • Strong experience in developing, refactoring and re-engineering web applications using REST, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, JS, Handlebars, JSP, JSON, XML and Html
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating system and shell scripting
  • Knowledge of Red hat OpenShift Container Platform is an advantage
