*THIS POSITION IS A 1 YEAR CONTRACT AND PAY STARTS AT $40 PER HOUR*POSITION SUMMARY The Software Engineering Project Team Lead will be responsible for design, development, and deployment of automotive rear seat entertainment (RSE) software systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement software architecture and roadmaps. Conducts software system design activities and reviews. Provide technical expertise over the course of the software development life cycle. Ensure architectural solutions meet technical requirements and functional objectives. Ensure technical designs comply with architecture guiding principles. Assist in automating the building and deployment of OEM applications. Review existing system architectures and recommend improvements. Lead software project teams both domestic and abroad to meet project milestones Lead engineering reviews to determine any ambiguities in architectural design solutions. Scrutinize change requests to determine work effort. Assist in Company growth through the Goal Planning process and individually driven goals. Using the Company internal Product Development Lifecycle system, create and deliver appropriate files with all documentation required to support IATF 16949. Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. Assist in the development and continuing improvement efforts to establish Company and the Engineering Department as World Class in the industry. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Experience developing strategic software system architecture plans. Experience in system and network creation and development. Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices. Experience conducting technology, trends, standards, and products research. Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems. Familiarity and expertise in a variety of products. Strong documentation and writing skills. Must be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Adaptability, flexibility, excellent organization skills, multitasking, and possess strong analytical and excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to learn computer applications, as necessary, for the position. Must have the ability to develop solutions for moderate to complex problems or systems. Excellent time management, problem solving, organizational, and verbal, and written communication skills. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Android development experience is highly preferred Principle knowledge of agile development methodologies. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, coding for large scale web or client-server applications, and development of application service layers. Knowledge of version control tools such as Git. Familiarity with computer servers, network switches, load balancers, network analyzers, and network channel or data service units. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE Minimum BS in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 - 8 years of relevant design experience or architectural capacity. WORKING CONDITIONS Travel (domestic and international) as required. Possess valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport if required. Typically, shall work in an office environment and need to be able to sit for extended periods of time. Required to wear proper safety equipment when/where necessary. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift 35 pounds
