JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Tax Analyst will prepare and review income tax returns and quarterly tax provisions. Prepare analyses and work papers that require broad tax knowledge and experience, direct and review the work of less-experienced staff, and champion the use of the software capabilities of the tax provision and compliance systems.  The position requires strong technical and communication skills and experience working within technology-enabled tax environments. The Senior Tax Analyst will establish and maintain partnerships with our Controller and business colleagues. The Senior Tax Analyst must also develop and maintain familiarity with finance processes, systems, policies, cost allocations, and financial/tax profile of individual legal entities. In addition, the Senior Tax Analyst will be asked to work on special projects as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare financial statement reporting of taxes under ASC 740, including deferred taxes, valuation allowances, state taxes, purchase accounting for acquisitions, share-based payments, tax account reconciliations, and SOX internal controls. Prepare or review all aspects of federal and state income tax compliance applying tax concepts and knowledge of entities, including state combination, allocation and apportionment, state modifications, net operating losses, and e-filing Delegate effectively to staff to promote cost efficiency and career development. Liaise with accounting colleagues and maintain familiarity with accounting processes, systems, and policies Prepare correspondence with tax authorities related to notices and desk audits; assist controversy team in responding to information requests from auditors. Work on special projects and stretch assignments, demonstrating eagerness to self-develop and explore new areas Proactively pursue process improvements in both the compliance and provision areas. QUALIFICATIONS: College degree with coursework demonstrating an interest in finance, tax, and/or accounting, graduate degree in tax a plus 3-5 years of broad tax experience in corporate tax compliance and provisions; prior experience supervising other tax professionals preferred Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with initiative and persistence to pursue problems and opportunities Strong verbal and written communication and team skills Familiarity with ERP, tax compliance and tax provision software, in particular, prefer experience in Corptax Compliance, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or Hyperion/Oracle ERP Suite, experience in Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau a plus Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite Strong leadership qualities, strong communication skills, and an ability to creatively solve complex problems while generating value in an environment of uncertainty, and the capacity to communicate technical tax issues to audiences of all levels.
