Job Description
POSITION TITLE: SPLICING MACHINE OPERATOR
DEPARTMENT: SPLICING
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
POSITION SUMMARY: Tends splicing machine that heats, and seals precut vinyl gaskets for refrigerators and other appliances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must produce good quality parts.
Must follow posted work instructions.
Must operate manual controls on the splicing machine
Must keep an accurate daily count of all spliced gaskets.
Must produce an equal number of fresh food and freezer gaskets.
Must check each corner to ensure a good quality splice.
Must determine when to call maintenance personnel to repair malfunctions in the machine.
Must complete and match shipping labels to the gasket specification as needed.
Must scrap unacceptable gaskets as required.
Must assist in the packaging of gaskets as needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be able to perform similar job-related duties as assigned.
Must be able to maintain a clean work area.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English well.
Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds.
