Job Description:

The Senior Software Developer works under the direction of the VP, Software Engineering and is responsible for working with Database Administrators, Business Analysts, other developers and business stakeholders to understand business requirements to design and develop software to satisfy them. The Senior Software Developer is a self-motivated software technology leader, who wants to make a difference in a rapid, rewarding environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software solutions in a Microsoft .Net environment using industry best practices and standards.

Provide architectural direction to the development team and advise IT management on architecture and technology direction as needed.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on software requirements.
  • Research and recommend new technologies
  • Deliver software iteratively and make continuous improvements based on customer feedback.
  • Work as part of a software development team and be willing to share best practices and experiences.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience developing .Net web applications using technologies including C#, MVC, ASP.net Telerik, Kenda UI, Bootstrap, JS, JQuery, CSS3, and HTML5, Angular JS, Web API, Gulp, Powershell. Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM development environment is preferred. The ideal candidate will be very comfortable working with business stakeholders on a frequent basis. Extensive Microsoft SQL database experience required.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal communications skills are required, as this position will work extensively with business stakeholders. Microsoft Team Foundation Server is desired. Experience with migration of legacy ASP systems in a phased implementation plan is highly desired. Strong problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills. Excellent customer service and customer interaction skills. Ability to proactively follow issues through to resolution. Work as a member of a team and be willing to share your expertise with others.

Other Position Parameters:
  • Ability to write efficient and readable code, with preference to C# and SQL Server. Any experience with noSQL or non-structured database objects.
  • Ideally seeking someone with strong knowledge of Elasticsearch (Kibana), Snowflake, and React.

Since we are in a domain heavy dynamic market, the willingness to learn domain and the intricacies goes a long way to become a productive member of the technology team.

  • Softskills including dialogue during brainstorm, ability to express their thought process and not hesitant to share concerns. Effective written communication is highly desired as well. In addition, a good team player with approachable personality goes a long way in a lean and highly efficient team.

  • Technical: 5 -8 years recent, hands-on experience (please do not submit more senior candidates)

Education and Credentials
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
