If you're calm, cool and collected in time sensitive situations, this Systems Engineer job is for you.
It's a contract to hire position in Los Angeles, CA.
The Systems Engineer reports to the VP of Technology.
The role involves maintaining existing and implementing new technology systems to support technical infrastructure needs.
The Systems Engineer will be a strong collaborator to resolve cross-department technical problems and diagnose root causes of incidents, as well as act as a tier 2 escalation point for production incidents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages multi-platform networks and infrastructure comprised of high-performance network storage, virtual and cloud-based servers, and services
  • Conduct and manage on going routine maintenance, updates, security patching and vulnerability testing and remediation
  • Improves and pushes DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, cloud, and on-premises systems to the next level
  • Participates in evaluation and POC sprints for new technology solutions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years working in a system engineering role
  • Ability to quickly isolate technical issues and remediate
  • Strong Mac OS, Linux, and Windows admin/engineering experience
  • Comfortable writing tools or automation in scripting languages (e.
    g.
    , Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with remote production infrastructure (HP PC Anywhere (PCoIP), Leostream, Remote Desktop)
  • Experience managing large multi-platform environments - mixed Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Proficiency with network design and protocols such as IP, Ethernet, VLAN's, Routing, Switching, Wireless, etc.
  • Experience with patch management and automated system deployments
  • Experience with security infrastructure and frameworks (e.
    g.
    , Firewalls, End Point Protection, DLP, TPN/MPA, NIST, Okta, VPN)
  • Experience managing high-performance NAS and SAN environments (e.
    g.
    , StorNext, Xsan, Scale out NAS, Fiber Channel, 10/40/100 GbE)
  • Experience with Cloud Solutions (AWS, Azure, Wasabi, other S3) for storage
  • Experience working in a creative environment supporting Adobe Creative Suite, C4D, or similar, transcoding/render farms, Aspera, FrameIO REQUIRED
