Qualifications:
Pay rate: $20.00/hr.

2. Must exhibit self-motivation, organizational skills;
3. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
4. Ability to learn and follow written procedures;
5. Ability to wear all required PPE in the productions areas, safety glasses, negative pressure respirator, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
6. Must be capable of operating equipment and handling/mixing chemicals.
7. Possess a basic understanding of personal computers with the ability to learn and interface with manufacturing software. Knowledge and use of MS Word and MS Excel.
8. 0 to 5 years of knowledge of coated abrasive products, processes, systems, and terminology.
9. Ability to safely operate forklifts and walk behind power lifts. Uses proper Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures when doing maintenance machine
10. Ability to think logically, rationally and make decisions.
11. Must be capable of using a desktop computer and the required programs (i.e. M/S Word, Excel).
12. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a non-repetitive basis.
13. Must be able to work 40 hours during a defined shift, plus overtime as required.
Responsibilities:
The Production Operator I (PO-I), reports directly to the Production Leader and is responsible for daily production activities as assigned in any of the Montgomeryville, PA departments (Microgrits, NORaX, Dept. 200, etc.). The PO-I position is for individuals with 0 – 5 years of Coated Abrasive manufacturing experience who perform tasks as directed to maintain the production schedule. Manufacturing tasks include but are not limited to: shift start-up, preparing coating formulations & mixes, transferring materials to process vessels, operation of making coaters and equipment (Microgrits & NORaX), preparing abrasive polishing slurries, preparing and receiving shipments, etc. The Production Leader is responsible for providing this position with the “know how” for each production task, as defined in the Essential Check List and Essential Core Competencies. This position must pass the evaluations defined by the Production Leader for critical tasks. Plant safety and quality are critical to the success of all production activities, the PO-I is responsible to both safety and quality for the tasks assigned. The position requires safe use of all facility powered industrial vehicles (operator certification) and the use of PPE.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensures that all work is conducted in a safe and professional manner- strict adherence to site safety procedures and Saint-Gobain standards. Active participation in the site EHS program;
2. Daily maker production support, performs making activities consistent with the Essential Core Competencies of the making tasks for Microgrits and/or NORaX (ability to complete specific taks as directed by site supervision and management);
3. Controls production machines and settings to achieve daily production goals;
4. Maintains a high attention to detail and accurately records production and quality data;
5. Monitors inventory or raw materials, supplies, and equipment to identify potential impacts to production and can communicate concerns to the Production Leader in a timely manner;
6. Adjusts and monitors equipment consistent with Department SOP’s, immediately reports concerns to the Production Leader;
7. Maintains work areas in an organized and orderly manner consistent with 5S practices, performed end-of-day clean up with proper storage of chemicals and equipment;
8. Interacts effectively with team oriented work groups in all departments to attain or surpass quality, safety, production and waste reduction goals while striving to attain a level of inventory accuracy; 9. Assist in conducting all necessary physical inventories and cycle counts as required by supervision;
10. Maintains business/process confidentiality, as required.
