Technician Wet Mix
Pay Rate: $18/HR


*******HOURLY RATE OF $18 PER HOUR and BONUS AVAILABLE: $500 after 30 days, and an additional $500 after 90 days.********


Responsibilities:
The Technician must be able to run the equipment, perform the required duties, and work within the group as assigned. The Technician must maintain a safe and clean working environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WETMIX PROCESS:
• Set up initial amounts of Boric Acid/Tri-Calcium
• Feed into Mixer
• Add water
• When the amber light flashes (approximately 20 minutes), mix is ready
• Place trays on belt (approximately 20 lbs), feed trays, move mold down from top onto tray
• Make sure all material in mold is flattened out
• Use knife to cut into squares (4 down / 5 across)
• Put trays on rack – moisture testing is done by taking a brick from the middle of the top tray, middle of the 3rd tray and middle of the bottom tray. Testing is done in the Coatings Room.
• After dry mix, material is sent to stabilize.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Break down dry mix coming out of dryers
• Put in hopper, small kiln box or retorts I. Safety:
a. Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
b. Follow/use proper lockout/ tagout procedures on equipment.
c. Wears required safety equipment, safety shoes, and safety glasses.
d. Uses all safety devices associated with equipment.

II. Housekeeping:
a. Keeps equipment clean.
b. Performs daily overhead crane inspections
c. Keeps work area in order and clean.
d. Performs general plant cleaning, supply restocking, and refuse disposal per the Senior Utility Person job description. These tasks will be performed as directed or during lulls in packaging responsibilities.

VII. Maintenance:
a. Performs minor equipment repair.
b. Contacts maintenance supervisor for major equipment repair.
c. Must be familiar with writing maintenance work orders

VIII. Other
a. Can accurately follow work orders to identify part numbers, lot numbers, and applicable material feed lots.
b. Use a tow motor to move material in and out of crucible loading areas. Experienced in crucible loading
c. Must be able to operate overhead cranes safely
d. Must be able to fill out Hot Spot forms accurately
e. Able to perform Hot Spot rod out procedure
