Job Title: Training & Development Specialist

Job Location: Horicon, WI

Job Type: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

  • The Training and Development Specialist will support the safety organization through the development of training curriculum and delivering training content to all levels of employees.
    While the primary focus will be health and safety, this individual will support the overall training function in the organization, and will be expected to learn monthly safety program and new hire safety training to include forklift, lifting devices, aerial lift/fall protection, confined space, etc.
     
  • The candidate must be able to work in a team environment and with all levels of the organization from the new hired wage employee up to and including the Factory Manager.
    Though the position will primarily focus on first shift, there will be requirements at times to work off shift hours (2nd and 3rd).

 

NOTE: The client hiring manager strongly prefers candidates with a two-year degree with 3+ years of relevant training experience, but the minimum requirement is a high school diploma/equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Also, must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications, but is required to be an advanced user of PowerPoint; this experience MUST be reflected in the details of the candidate's work history.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Investigates training and development needs of employees in support of training needs analysis or other such projects.
  • Based on needs analysis, develops training proposal and/or other development activities designed to close gaps related to employees' knowledge, skills or behaviour competencies.
  • Coaches managers and employees on training and development opportunities that relate to the identification of development needs and are consistent with Enterprise objectives.
  • Assists with the development of training and development programs as well as the delivery of such programs.
    May develop basic programs or straightforward job related skills training.
  • Also, is certified to deliver various courses developed within the Company such as Train the Trainer courses or those courses obtained externally.
  • Prepares instructional materials and job aids for courses.
  • Administers scheduling of training facilities, the reporting of training hours and other related administrative duties in the training area.
  • Implements training requirements related to Enterprise projects such as Performance Management or Succession Planning.
