Evening Shift
Pay Rate: $55.00/HR


Cortech is seeking a night shift Traveling Ultrasound tech in Ardmore, OK.


Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Supervisor and Director of Diagnostic Imaging, performs diagnostic ultrasound and radiographic procedures. Provides personalized care, recognizing the worth and dignity of each patient. Will perform all work with accord to the mission, vision, and values.

Requirements:
--Graduate of approved school of Ultrasound or High School Diploma or GED equivalency and on-the-job training with 6 months of experience.
--At least 1 year experience with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology
--Registered or registry eligible in Ultrasound. Certified through an approved ultrasound course. Must obtain American Heart Association BLS before the orientation period ends.

Job Description:
**Performs sonographic examinations on all types of patients with expertise in the areas of OB/GYN, abdominal, and doppler related flow studies.
1.1 In a caring and compassionate manner, positions and immobilizes patients as necessary to achieve imaging of the requested region and or function.
1.2 Consistently selects and operates ultrasound equipment according to departmental standards in order to obtain optimum quality images.
1.3 Accurately identifies all ultrasound images.
1.4 Processes all necessary hard copy images according to standards.
1.5 Completes all examinations in a timely manner with close consideration given to patient scheduled time.
1.6 Demonstrates expertise when required in the preparation and assistance in special and/or invasive procedures.
**Effectively communicates comprehensive and accurate sonographer interpretations to radiologists.
2.1 Accurately and consistently obtains patient history and clinical data
2.2 Records technical impressions and data documentation completely and accurately in accordance with departmental standards.
**Practices appropriate nursing procedures and provides quality patient care.
3.1 Provides personalized care by showing compassion, respect, and responsiveness to the needs of the patient.
3.2 Practices sterile technique in accordance with hospital policies.
3.3 Adheres to all infection control guidelines.
3.4 Regularly renews CPR certification prior to expiration.
3.5 Properly disposes of soiled linen, trash and hazardous waste according to hospital policy.
**Completes all EPIC responsibilities and maintains all appropriate Ultrasound Tech/Rad Clinical Instructor records and files.
4.1 Ensures that all information on the radiology requisition is accurate and complete.
4.2 Inputs all data into EPIC required for completion.
**Plans and organizes professional services.
5.1 Reviews all assigned requisitions for accuracy and applicable clinical information.
5.2 Prepares room and equipment in advance and ensures that assigned area is kept clean, orderly, and stocked.
5.3 Ensures record compliance for student academic institution are accurate.
5.4 Communicate on regular basis with department staff, supervisors/management regarding needs and status of student training.
**Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
6.1 Demonstrates knowledge of the changes associated with aging.
6.2 Demonstrates ability to provide care based upon physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and other age related factors.
6.3 Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient needs.
**Provide imaging service for additional modality as qualified.
7.1 Meet quality standards of imaging modality per department standards.
**Performs other duties as assigned to include but not limited to:
8.1 Maintains current certification of professional registry.
8.2 Responsible for utilizing the Institute of Medicine's "6 Quality Improvement Aims" as an organized approach to creating service excellence in care/services (Safe, Timely, Efficient, Effective, Equitable, and Patient Centered).
