Veterinary Technologist
Pay Rate: $20.36/HR
7:00am-4:00PM

The individual will process laboratory data either electronically via networked PCs or in a hand written laboratory notebook, and these experimental results will subsequently be summarized by the experimentalist in formal circulated reports.

The role is to assist with pre-clinical research activities of R&D projects conducting in vivo experiments. Veterinary technical skill in euthanasia is required. Education: BS in a Physical or Life science or related technical field (Animal Sciences preferred) or equivalent years of experience.

Duties:
--administering medications to lab animals,
--preparing samples for laboratory examinations,
--providing preoperative and postoperative care,
--assisting during animal ophthalmic surgery,
--maintaining the lab operating room by following established standards (including sterilizing laboratory and surgical instruments),
--recording information about an animals weight, medication, and clinical signs of pain and distress.
