Position SummaryWhitman Hospital & Medical Center is looking for a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician with excellent communication and technical skills for our Evening Shift opportunity. Our Medical Laboratory Technician will use significant analytical and independent judgement to perform complex tests of clinical specimens and will join a highly skilled and caring team.Join our team in the Laboratory department and learn why Whitman Hospital & Medical Center has been repeatedly named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States. Share in our vision of being a leader in innovative, caring, and personalized healthcare while enjoying our competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement options for full time and part time employees.Sign on bonus may be offered for this position.Position Details80 hours per pay period (two weeks)Evening ShiftPerform analysis, evaluate, and report results of clinical specimensEnsure operation of equipment by calibrating, completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and evaluating new equipment and techniquesProtect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and protocolsMaintain laboratory supplies inventoryOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsAssociate's Degree in related health sciences fieldASCP certified or equivalentCompleted program of study at an accredited school of Medical Laboratory SciencesSix (6) months experience as a Medical Laboratory TechnicianActive Washington state Medical Assistant Phlebotomy license, or ability to obtain license within 30 days of hireAHA BLS certified within thirty (30) days of hire and maintained while employed
