Purpose of the job:
Responsible for accurately shipping and receiving product and other warehouse-related duties.
Responsible for accurately receiving product, performing stock rotations and adjustments, maintaining cycle counts and assisting with other warehouse duties as needed.
Job Context:
Perform shipping and receiving of product requiring physical work in Distribution Center. Perform inventory and cycle counting of product
Highly conscious of safety regulations and procedures to ensure personal safety and those in work environment.
Ability to learn new processes and navigate systems to perform responsibilities.
Job Content:
Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility
Process UPS and LTL shipments- involves selecting product from pick ticket, palletizing/packing of product in boxes and processing any necessary shipping documents
Take receipt of incoming product- entails counting and matching product counts, receiving product in Oracle and placement in proper inventory location
Assist with loading and unloading of trucks using a riding pallet jack, assuring that proper product is received
Responsible for shipment of product sample requests from associates, vendors and customers
Aid inventory control with cycle counts as necessaryParticipate in routine warehouse maintenance/cleaning as needed
Identify all relevant SHE and security aspects (e.g. use of workspace, traveling, required training, ergonomics, SHE plans, etc.) and assess the corresponding risks related to the position; act in such a way that the SHE and Security impact on self and others is minimized (e.g. follow instructions and procedures, good housekeeping, etc); immediately report and give follow-up to all incidents (injuries, near misses, SHE hazards, etc.) and encourage colleagues to improve SHE results and prevent incidents. Regularly participate in team auditing to evaluate overall facility SHE compliance.
Complexity of the job:
Understanding of shipping and receiving process and special requirements for customers.
Solid technological skills to work with various Distribution Center systems.
Ability to work as part of a rotating work team, sharing and shifting day-to-day responsibilities as determined by Supervisor.
Knowledge and educational level:
High school diploma/GED
PC literate, experience with Oracle preferred.
Ability to utilize Forklift, Riding Pallet Jack, Pallet scales and calculator
Ability to read, write and understand English.
