JOB DESCRIPTION:

Some of the job responsibilities include, not are not limited to welding lighting poles and fixtures ensuring that correct manufacturing order integrity. The candidate must also have the ability to follow verbal instructions from supervisor staff, follow manufacturing standardized work instructions and adhere to quality and quantity standards within a timely manner. Be able to maintain welding tools and equipment and perform basic maintenance on welder’s equipment and torches as needed. Maintain records and perform checks associated with quality control procedures, performing inspections throughout the manufacturing process and assisting set-up personnel by handling inventory within the department such as moving raw poles and finished poles as required or needed.

Job Functions:
• May perform basic set-up operations on machinery and welding of parts.
• Maintain necessary records for all operations.
• Monitor equipment conditions and perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Perform simple to moderate MIG welding operations.
• Adheres to all Vicksburg Plant Quality standards and checks completed parts to ensure compliance. Makes sure necessary quality adjustments are completed when required in order to meet quality goals.
• Adheres to all MESH (environmental, Safety, health) rules and regulations, and work instructions and checks area/employees to ensure compliancy.
• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S, ensuring an orderly working and storage area.
• Assist team in achieving plant and department goals.
• Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement.
• Fosters an environment that promotes Cooper’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
• Perform in other trades as instructed by supervisor or set-up personnel or other related duties as assigned.
