Warehouse Tech - Material Handler Apply
The Warehouse Technician will act as a Shipping/Receiving Coordinator. You will be accountable for all incoming and outgoing shipments of materials at the Parkway site including the associated documentation/tracking requirements.• Perform work duties in accordance with safety & quality policies and according to site specific requirements• Load/unload shipments of incoming/outgoing materials using a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment• Coordinate shipping and receiving activities with other groups to ensure minimal impact and operational continuity• Develop skills to operate all equipment used in the department in a safe manner• Assist in generating and revising SOPs as needed using the Management of Change process.• Represent the company in a professional manner on a daily basis with the customers, suppliers, the public and other employees• Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality and work efficiency• Responsible for procurement of all materials directly related to shipping/receiving activities• Ensures all items received by the facility are properly documented as outlined in the ISO/receiving inspection procedures; address any discrepancies in a timely fashion• Print, verify accuracy and file bills of lading accordingly• Perform daily confirmation of shipments and generate daily pass down information to defined parties• Assist in manufacturing processes as required• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks required by the job• Must be familiar with DOT 49CFR Hazardous Goods, IATA – International Air Dangerous Goods, ADR – Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road and IMDG – International Maritime Dangerous Goods regulations in preparing goods for final shipment• Operate a forklift and pallet jack (both electric and manual). Must maintain forklift certification• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent• 2+ years in shipping/receiving role or regulated industry environment• Basic knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, data entry, ERP systems and Outlook• Basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing / shipping procedures, including use of personal computers and or data entry• Good communication skills, both oral and written• Basic math skills
