POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the coordination of wishes within the policies and procedures established by Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island and Make-A-Wish America. The Coordinator is one of several in the Wish department fulfilling the Make-A-Wish mission of granting wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of wishes and manage his/her own caseload of routine and complex wishes to ensure the wish proceeds in a timely manner. Specific aspects include, but are not limited to, establishing a budget for each wish and organizing the following types of logistics: transportation; accommodations and services; medical equipment; wish forms and itineraries; and coordinating with destination chapters.
• Manage and track all required referral and wish paperwork (i.e., medical authorizations, wish forms, liability releases, birth certificates, temporary guardianships, single parent affidavits, etc.) and enter all information into Raiser’s Edge software in a timely and accurate manner.
• Develop strong relationships with vendors in their region to secure in-kind donations for wishes.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and family members to ensure each wish proceeds in the best interest of the child.
• Provide support for internal and external events, including identifying, scheduling, and hosting wish families.
• Keep abreast of all Make-A-Wish America and local policies, procedures, Performance Standards, guidelines, and resources as they relate to the wish-granting program and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve the wish-granting process.
• Participate in the on-call rotation within Wish department.
• Assist other departments as needed and assist office with phone back-up, mail processing, administrative tasks, volunteer communications/training, and special events.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• SPANISH FLUENCY REQUIRED – verbal and written.
• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree required.
• Must be computer savvy (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel); Raiser’s Edge experience strongly desired.
• 1 - 3 years previous non-profit or customer service experience desired, including work with children and families. Experience working with volunteers preferred.
• Public speaking experience helpful.
• Reliable transportation desired but not required.
• Must be willing to work evening and weekend hours, as needed.
