HourlyA. POSITION PURPOSE

The Employment Outcomes Data Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Law Graduate Employment. The Employment Outcomes Data Coordinator is primarily responsible for gathering and reporting employment statistics for recent Santa Clara Law graduates. For the most part, the candidate will work part-time (20 hours per week).

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Graduate Engagement and Data Collection
  • Engage prospective graduates and recent graduates on a regular basis to encourage dialogue with OCM to facilitate collection of employment data from 100% of each reporting class.
  • Develop processes to conduct outreach to prospective graduates and graduates to solicit employment statistics, specifically at graduation and 10 months post-graduation.
  • Coordinate outreach with Santa Clara Law staff and faculty to graduates who have not responded to previous outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate with Student Services to identify graduates to be included in each reporting class.

2. Protocols
  • Collect, record, maintain, and report graduate employment data to accrediting bodies (i.e., ABA) in accordance with accepted/published ABA protocols, and Interested external groups (e.g., NALP, U.S. News and World Report, etc.).
  • Perform rule analysis with regard to varying reporting standards and ensure compliance for each organization.
  • Create and maintain complete, up-to-date, and auditable records of all employment data collection activity, and become proficient with 12Twenty as a data collection tool.
  • Approve employment information and job postings on 12Twenty.

3. Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Coordinate update of ABA Standard 509 disclosures on Santa Clara Law website.Assure website has most current employment outcomes reports.
  • Collect, record, maintain, analyze, and report graduate employment data as requested by internal Santa Clara Law personnel to identify trends and support development of programs to improve employment opportunities and outcomes for Santa Clara Law graduates.

4. Other Duties as Assigned

  • Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services.
  • Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.
  • Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives.
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
  • Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals.
  • Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.
  • Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
  • Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.

D. QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience required or preferred.

1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Sensitivity to needs and timing when approaching graduates who are engaged in job search and/or Bar exam preparation and/or have received Bar results.
  • Respect for confidential nature of the information being requested from graduates.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, State Bar website, and other internet resources for locating employment information regarding unresponsive graduates.
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to create organizational structures.
  • Create usable spreadsheets for multiple users.
  • Ability to analyze rules, and synthesize facts to develop compliant records.

2. Education and/or Experience
  • BA or BS degree required.
  • JD or other graduate degree preferred.
  • 5-6 years of work in related filed required.
  • 1 year experience in auditing, compliance, or legal industry role preferred.
