Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.The Group Benefit Operations Absence Management Consultant, in partnership with the assigned Implementation resource, serves as an external facing resource as the subject matter expert with prospective and in-force clients and producers on a wide variety of complex topics including: FMLA, State Leave Laws, Salary Continuance, Statutory Disability/Paid Family and Medical Leaves, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, ADA and other employer sponsored leaves. This individual will actively consult with clients, producers, and internal business partners to make decisions on the leave programs the company will administer for non-complex Regional Account and all Priority Account clients. This position will support the business for pre- and post-sale activity during the lifecycle of peak seasons.The primary job duties include but are not limited to:Facilitates and documents leave management specific decisions including leave management implementation log, approved non-standard company sponsored leave and coordination of plans with disability and statutory claims for non-complex RA and all PA customers (est. 10-12 cases annually)Using best practices, supports all Ask an AMIC Help Requests submissions in Salesforce including but not limited to, 1 time call support, general inquiries, policy reviews for PA customers, H&T support for new and acquisition business in the non-complex RA and entire PA segmentsActively participates in finalist presentations, as required for above segment sizes as/if neededCoordinates appropriate transition service with customer (H&T, Clean Slate, Clean Slate w/takeover), file feed team and claims which includes reviewing the data and setting appropriate takeover expectations with the customerWhen appropriate, provides general training on FMLA, state leave or company leave outsourcing for prospective customers and producersAssist by facilitating discussion surrounding the knowledge transfer to CCST of customer specific leave special handling for any Non-Standard processes surrounding the leave plansProvide support as back up user acceptance testers for absence/leave functionality in THAA including custom employer leaves, tasking, and customized lettersAdditional qualifications include:2+ years Absence Management experience requiredLeave management knowledge (FMLA, State Leave Laws, Salary Continuance, Statutory Disability, Paid Leaves, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, ADA and other employer sponsored leaves); Certified Leave Management Specialist highly desired.Acute understanding of disability benefits and servicesKnowledge of Hartford's Group Benefits products, provisions, and service offerings preferredStrong communication skills (oral and written), customer service orientation, ability to work independentlyAbility to present, with growing confidence, our leave management services in a consultative manner to external partiesWorking knowledge of how absence/leave claims are managed in THAA, the claim process flow and their interaction with disability and statutory claimsAbility to adapt to the changing environment based on market demands or company / team changes to process or proceduresAbility to develop strategic alliances with various internal and external business partnersProficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,) and demonstrated proficiency in utilization of administrative systems (i.e. NSR, Case Management, THAA, PST, WFT, SharePoint sites, webinar)Ability to be flexible and adapt to a broad set of responsibilitiesMinimum 10% travel requiredAbility to handle a high caseload during peak season (s)For full-time, occasional, part-time or remote positions: (1) high speed broadband internet service is required, we do not recommend or support DSL, wireless, Wifi, Hotspots, Fiber without a modem and Satellite; (2) Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable; and (3) minimum upload/download speeds of 75MB download/10MB upload will be required. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
