Job Summary:
Reporting to the Business Program Manager of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) in the Office of Research Education the Academic Coordinator will assist in operational and administrative tasks that support the thirteen basic science Ph.D. programs and the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Colorado Anschutz, School of Medicine, and Graduate School. The Academic Coordinator will work to provide comprehensive support in overall program management, which encompasses admissions and recruitment functions, policies and guidance adherence, communications, logistics, database management, and event coordination. As an entry professional, this position will also be working within the team to increase communication efficiencies and foster excellent customer service skills while collaborating with multiple audiences including prospective students, current students, staff, and faculty. This position will additionally serve a key role in planning and supporting essential program official functions, such as recruitment weekends, graduation dinners, program retreats, and conferences.
This is a term-limited (1-year) position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships in the Office of Research Education (ORE) and School of Medicine, with staff peers, Ph.D. program staff and faculty, MSTP Business Services Manager, and the ORE Business Services Program Director.
- Perform general daily office support and tasks, such as managing emails, formatting documents, and organizing electronic files for ORE and MSTP collectively.
- Act as a liaison between students, department staff and external stakeholders. Handle inquiries and requests from internal and external parties promptly and professionally.
- Prepare and distribute documents, including event announcements (flyers) and correspondence.
- Support the day-of execution for meetings and events including room preparation, material creation and distribution, guest reception and navigational support, meal delivery, meal serving, and student attendance tracking. This may include on-site support as well as remote.
- Support ORE and MSTP leadership teams, and Program Administrators with data entry into student information system as requested.
- Assist with data entry from collected forms and surveys as needed with an emphasis on accuracy and strong data management processes.
- This position will learn multiple databases to serve as either a primary or backup resource for reporting and data analysis. Responsible for ensuring that data is stored in all applicable systems and that it is accessible to all stakeholders.
Work Location:
Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in education, communication, social science, women and gender studies, psychology, computer science, information systems, business, health sciences, physical sciences, public administration, business administration, higher education, counseling, hospitality, liberal arts, finance, accounting, human services, student affairs, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelors degree on a year-for-year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in higher education.
- Experience with event planning.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $43,797-$55,709
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
