Job Purpose Responsible for preparing financial reports, analyzing financial information, and performing other accounting duties for assigned areas of Progress Rail. Handle budget and forecasting duties for assigned area. Produce timely and accurate financial statements. Review and analyze open receivables. Support operations as needed. Complete monthly, quarterly and annual duties such as backlog and revenue reporting. Advanced Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for capital expenditures, inventory control and product costing. Ensure compliance with SOX. Education / Training Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting. Qualifications and Experience 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; manufacturing industry experience preferred. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to work independently and with teams. CMA certification preferred. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention to detail skills. Microsoft Office skills required; expert skills with spreadsheets. Essential Physical and Functional Activities Standard office environment; occasional standing, walking, and rare heavy lifting. Regular standard repetitive motions and hand/eye coordination required for office communications; may involve bending, lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and walking as required by safety investigations. Constant verbal communication requirements. Occasional work in non‑temperature‑controlled facilities and industrial environments with potential exposure to noise, cold, hazardous materials, and high dust levels; may involve extended periods in hazardous conditions for investigations. Interpersonal skills needed for audits and reporting. Must follow all safety guidelines and requirements.
