What we are looking for:
ODF is looking for an Accountant 1 - Asset, Debt Service, Facilities and Equipment Pool Program Accountant to prepare and code input, reconcile data, conduct analyses, recommend and institute procedures relating to property according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Oregon Accounting Manual.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate;
OR
A Bachelors degree in Accounting;
OR
Successful completion of the State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate program from an accredited college or university;
OR
32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours in Accounting from an accredited institution AND two years of technical, para- professional accounting experience to include: a) classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records; b) designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records; c) preparing financial statements and reports; d) analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions; and e) analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts and account relationships resulting in accounting entries.
Note: If you are selected to move forward in the selection process, you may be requested to submit a photocopy of transcripts to receive credit for required courses.
Note: Drivers License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout. If you have an Oregon drivers license, a record check will be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.

  • Basic knowledge of governmental or fund accounting, including preparing and coding input, sources of funds, cost segregation, and display of expenditures and revenues, and budgetary accounting.
  • Experience reconciling data, initiating corrections, and making adjusting entries.
  • Experience conducting analyses, and reconciling accounting reports, statements, projections, and schedules.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret agency fiscal information from reports.
  • Experience in recommending and instituting procedures, governmental accounting policies, procedures, and operations.
