As an Accountant 2, you will perform complex accounting duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Business Office.
Responsibilities include:
  • Gathering information and developing annual budgets, re-budgets, monthly budget projections, and year-end miscellaneous encumbrances for submission to the Division of Fiscal Management,
  • Auditing the bank statement for Wernersville Community Correctional Center (CCC),
  • Coordinating audits with the Auditor General's Office,
  • Monitoring agency purchase orders and reconciling monthly bank charges,
  • Processing and monitoring invoices for the warehouse,
  • Verifying receipt of services or goods, accuracy of charges or credits, purchase document reference, availability of funds, and goods receipts,
  • Preparing advancement account checks, and
  • Auditing and approving or declining purchasing card charges.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.
    5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Accountant 1; or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
    A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
