Summary/Objective

A growing multi-entity organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant who will play a pivotal role in supporting the continued financial health of the business. This person will perform daily activities to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation and reporting of all financial data.  

Essential Functions

  1. Manage all daily accounting operations to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  2. Supervise A/R and A/P personnel to ensure proper recording of transactions and assist in resolving any discrepancies.
  3. Prepare journal entries and complete monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  4. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and provide interpretation and analysis of those statements.
  5. Perform reconciliation of general ledger accounts including bank reconciliations and I/C accounts.
  6. Collect and analyze data related to operational costs; variable, fixed costs and S,G&A to help department leads in reducing costs.
  7. Develop an understanding of ERP systems to grasp transaction effects on the general ledger and to assist in developing and analyzing product costing.
  8. Detect possible weaknesses in internal controls or standard accounting procedures and make recommendations to strengthen controls and efficiency.
  9. Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization and with outside entities.
  10. Oversee weekly cash disbursement runs and handle the corresponding bank transactions including submitting positive pay files to the banks for checks.
  11. Audit financial transactions and documents.
  12. Comply with financial policies and regulations.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

  2. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  3. Understanding of business and management principles.
  4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  8. Thorough understanding of ERP systems, product costing and flow of information through the system.
  9. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially with Excel, Word and Outlook.


Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree.
  2. 3-5 years accounting experience, preferably with a manufacturer.
  3. Strong MS Excel skills

Work Environment

This is an office position.




Compensation details: 60000-70000 Yearly Salary
