The Accountant at McLane Global is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role supports the accounting department with daily accounting tasks, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable balances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Assist with audits (internal and external) by providing supporting documentation and schedules.
- Analyze financial data and summarize financial status.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Microsoft D365 preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
