Job Title: Real Estate Accountant Location: Locust Valley, NY – Hybrid – Monday-Thursday in Office; Friday-Remote Starting Salary: $80k REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED We are a small family owned commercial and residential real estate company based in Locust Valley, NY. We specialize in residential and commercial property management and development. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Real Estate Accountant to play a key hands‑on role in executing our day-to-day and monthly financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate accounting and be proficient in QuickBooks. Key Responsibilities Execute day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations. Lead the preparation and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Maintain and monitor property budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals. Perform payroll processing and related reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry. Proficiency in QuickBooks. Strong Excel skills required. Solid understanding of multi‑entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
