Job Description
Responsible for providing accounting services for Genesis PrimeCare and maintaining its financial records in compliance with all federal, state, local, and professional requirements by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares monthly financial statements.*
- Prepares monthly journal entries and processes subsidiary ledgers.*
- Prepares required financial schedules and variance reports.*
- Prepares monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.*
- Prepares monthly financial packet and financial PowerPoint presentation*
- Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual federal and state grant reporting.*
- Prepares annual audit schedules and assists with annual financial audit.*
- Prepares annual form 990 schedules as requested by outside preparer.*
- Prepares annual Medicare cost report schedules as requested by outside preparer.*
- Assists with annual uniform data system reporting.*
- Assists in organization and preparation of annual budget.*
- Provides guidance to accounting assistant as needed.*
- Assists the chief financial officer with special projects as needed.*
- Participates in educational activities.*
- Conducts self in accordance with Genesis PrimeCare's employee manual.*
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act guidelines/regulations.*
- Makes written and oral reports to the chief financial officer concerning accounting functions.*
- Must be willing to work occasional overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.*
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Athena, MicroMD, and Dentrix.
Education/Experience:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2-4 years related experience
Preferred: Masters degree in Accounting or MBA
Monday - Friday 8am -5pm
After Hours as needed
