Job Description
Our well-established Pittsburgh area company located in the North Hills has an immediate opening for an Accountant.
We are a small family-owned company in the North Hills of Pittsburgh looking for an Accountant to join our team in the office full time. This position reports directly to the Owner. This candidate should be a self-starter, able to work well independently, should be proficient in Microsoft Excel & QuickBooks and have an education in accounting. Being experienced in Excel Macros is a plus not required This candidate should be experienced in the field of accounting and be confident in their abilities for the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable
- Balance all deposits daily
- Review weekly payroll and record journal entries as needed
- Review and record daily bank transactions
- File monthly sales tax returns
- File quarterly local tax returns as needed
- Monthly and as needed journal entries in the accounting software
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Post monthly accruals as needed
- Perform month end close
- Preparation of financial statements
- Other tasks as defined.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with financial report writing and analysis
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills
