**Job Title:** General Ledger Accountant**Location:** Ashburn VA**Onsite 3 days week****Job Type:** contract**W2 Rate $40- 50 hr**Jefferson Wells is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and journal entries-particularly in a manufacturing and inventory-focused environment.**Key Responsibilities:**+ Manage and execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.+ Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.+ Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.+ Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities.+ Support inventory accounting, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, inventory valuation, and cycle count adjustments.+ Collaborate with the manufacturing and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting of production costs and inventory levels.+ Assist in financial audits by providing necessary documentation and support.+ Contribute to process improvements and ensure internal controls are followed.**Qualifications:**+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.+ 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.+ Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.+ Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.**JEFFERSON WELLS - Who We Are** **:**Jefferson Wells ( a division of ManpowerGroup, is a professional services firm delivering solutions in Finance & Accounting, Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance and Tax.
