Accountant (Contract)Location (City, State): Waxhaw, NCPay: $26$30 / hourBenefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).Job Description:The Accountant will provide hands-on support to the finance team during a maternity leave coverage period. This role will focus on core accounting functions including month-end close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while also serving as a point of contact for field locations with accounting-related questions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.Key Responsibilities:Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliationsPerform daily and monthly bank and cash reconciliationsPrepare and support balance sheet reconciliations and financial statementsCommunicate with branch locations to resolve accounting questions and discrepanciesInvestigate variances across multiple entities and support consolidated reportingCollaborate with internal finance team members to ensure timely and accurate reportingMaintain organized documentation and support audit or internal review requestsQualifications:Minimum of 3 years of accounting experienceStrong Excel skills, including use of formulas and multi-sheet workbooksExperience with month-end close and reconciliations requiredAbility to analyze data, identify issues, and problem-solve independentlyPrior experience in financial services or public accounting is a plus, but not requiredStrong communication skills with the ability to work with remote or multi-location teamsAdditional Details:Contract role through SeptemberFully onsite positionSchedule options: 8:005:00 or 8:305:30Reports into senior finance leadershipTeam environment with approximately 8 accounting professionalsSystems include Sage 100 and Excel (some locations use different platforms)Perks:Competitive hourly payOpportunity to support a stable, established organizationHands-on accounting experience in a multi-entity environmentCollaborative and supportive team cultureBusiness-casual office settingAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
