The big picture

We are looking for a detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to take on a key role in our finance department, located in Hawkinsville, Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This position will report to the Accounting Manager and will involve both day-to-day accounting tasks and strategic financial analysis.

We will trust you to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform analysis of the budget to actual results and prepare a report with the findings.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Monitor and administer compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements, as well as accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Fluency in English (Written and Verbal)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
