Accounting & Property Operations Manager
Location: Sierra Vista, AZ (On-site)
Salary: $60k-$80k + performance-based bonus
We are seeking an accounting-focused professional with prior property management accounting experience and hands-on AppFolio expertise. This role is responsible for all financial operations and controls within AppFolio, with limited oversight of leasing and property operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This is not a traditional Property Manager role. Candidates must have worked in an accounting position within a property management company.
What You’ll Do (Primary Focus)
- Full responsibility for AppFolio accounting and daily system use
- Post and reconcile rent, deposits, AP/AR, and bank accounts
- Monthly bank and GL reconciliations
- Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, Rent Roll, and variance reports
- Monitor budgets and cash flow
- Support year-end accounting and 1099s
Secondary Responsibilities
- Audit leasing activity, pricing, and concessions
- Review and approve leases and renewals before execution
- Monitor delinquency and occupancy trends
- Review maintenance invoices and work orders for cost accuracy
Required (Non-Negotiable)
- Prior property management accounting role
- Hands-on AppFolio accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of AP/AR, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Some property management or leasing workflow experience
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred
- Experience with 80–150 unit multifamily portfolios
- Experience supporting remote properties
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
