Accounting AssistantWe are looking for an accounting assistant to join our team on a contract basis in North Easton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the treasurer/collector by processing tax payments and providing exceptional customer service to residents. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable handling cash and checks in a precise environment.Responsibilities:Process tax payments made by residents through cash and checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Provide courteous and attentive customer service to residents during in-person interactions.Open incoming mail and review its contents for tax-related payments or inquiries.Research and enter check information into the database with a focus on precision.Maintain accurate records of transactions and support reconciliation efforts.Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks as needed.Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.Utilize QuickBooks software for coding invoices and other financial activities.Collaborate with the treasurer/collector to address payment discrepancies or resident concerns.Ensure confidentiality and security of financial data while handling transactions.Requirements:Previous experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting roles.Proficiency in QuickBooks and other relevant financial software.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy when processing payments.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents.Familiarity with bank reconciliations and financial recordkeeping.Ability to handle cash and checks responsibly and securely.Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and residents.
