Our client is a leading mid-sized law firm with offices around the tri-state. They are currently in need of a full-time Accounting Assistant for their Uniondale, NY office (central Nassau county) to report and assist the Accounting Manager. This is a hybrid role – 3 days in the office, 2 remote, working 9-5pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and code vendor invoices and ensure proper authorization
  • Input vendor invoices into Aderant accounting system
  • Process vendor payments, obtain signatures for checks and mail out payments
  • Review vendor statements
  • Investigate payment inquiries
  • Research uncashed checks and reissue as needed
  • Process journal entries
  • Assist with matter maintenance in Aderant
  • Record incoming wire transfers
  • Prepare check deposits and record in Aderant
  • Process client credit card payments
  • Investigate incoming payments with no remittance information
  • Assist with trust/escrow activity
  • Ad hoc requests and special projects

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

  • College degree or working towards a degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with Aderant or Chrome River a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
