Accounting Clerk Apply
Summary The Accounting Clerk plays a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by performing routine clerical and administrative tasks. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the company. Daily tasks will entail invoicing, spreadsheet creation and updating, as well as other general accounting and office functions. Duties and Responsibilities Answer the phones in a friendly, helpful, and efficient manner. Greet vendors, customers, applicants, etc., and direct them to the appropriate company personnel. Keep track of the whereabouts of key personnel and process their calls and messages. Open and distribute company mail. Perform daily billing, reporting, and filing. Assist the HR Manager with general HR-related questions, benefits, and payroll-related items. Comply with company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Education and Experience Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field. Two years of general office experience. Friendly, professional image and demeanor. Experience with Microsoft Word. Pleasant phone etiquette. Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting and/or finance. At least six months of experience as a front‑desk receptionist. Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Word and knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience in using accounting software. Self‑motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Skills Excellent speaking and phone communication skills. Effective written communication tailored to the audience. Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Detail oriented and organized. Physical Demands Requires regular walking, speaking, and hearing. Requires frequent sitting and standing. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
