Position: Entry-Level Accounting Clerk
Location: Whittier, CA
Department: Finance
Reports To: Controller
Shift: Monday Friday, 7:30-4:30
Compensation: $21-30/hr DOE 1. Job Summary

The Entry-Level Accounting Clerk supports the finance team by performing basic accounting and administrative tasks. This position is designed for individuals beginning their career in accounting, offering hands-on experience in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with account reconciliations. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accounting Support
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial records and transactions.

  • Assist in processing invoices, payments, and expense reports.

  • Help reconcile bank statements and company accounts.

  • Support month-end and year-end accounting activities.

Administrative & Clerical Tasks
  • File and organize financial documents and reports.

  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.

  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the accounting team.

3. Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.

  • No prior accounting experience required; training will be provided.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Working Conditions
  • Office environment with standard business hours.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • May occasionally need to lift or move files or office materials up to 10 pounds.
