Accounting InternThe primary function of the Accounting Intern is to assist as needed in with various departmental functions related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and general ledger.Functions include but are not limited to:Help digitize accounting records as the department prepares to move to a new accounting software system.Assist with the preparation of customer invoices and statements including folding, stuffing envelopes and putting postage on the notices.Assist with the preparation of vendor invoices for payment.Assist with tagging and inventorying of company fixed assets.Assist with account analysis/reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.Update various Excel spreadsheets as part of the above functions.Maintain customer and vendor files.Perform other duties as assigned.Work with supervising staff to process requests in an accurate and timely manner.Attend work regularly, ready to perform duties.Requirements:Currently enrolled in an accounting program at an accredited university.Completion of at least 90 hours of college credits is preferred.Experience using Microsoft software applications and ability/willingness to learn others.Ability to meet deadlines and establish priorities.Ability to maintain, in a confidential manner, all information received.Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Clean and neat appearance.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Normal working conditions for this position are typical of an office environment. The physical requirements of this position include sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Must have ability to sit for long periods of time. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
