Accounting Manager Assistant Controller
Our client, a leader in environmental services, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their dynamic finance team. This is a high impact role where you'll oversee a team of three and take ownership of key accounting functions, performance analysis, and financial reporting for one of their core segments.
In this role, you’ll play a key role in audits, contribute to the implementation of new accounting standards, and support a variety of special projects across the business.

What You’ll Do:
Lead and mentor a team of 2 Accountants and 1 Senior Accountant
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Oversee inventory accounting, including per-unit cost build-up for raw materials and finished goods
Manage transportation accounting and ensure accurate cost allocations
Prepare monthly KPIs and executive-level financial summaries
Ensure accurate financial reporting aligned with US GAAP
Partner with cross-functional teams and Segment Controller on budgeting and forecasting
Provide insightful performance analysis to drive profit and operational efficiency
Support quarterly board materials and monthly management commentary
Play a key role in the annual audit and implementation of new accounting standards
Perform quarterly site visits to the Indianapolis Re-refinery
What We’re Looking For:
8–12 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance, or business unit controllership
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred or in progress)
Experience working in the industrial, environmental, or manufacturing sector.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
Experience supervising and leading teams, mentoring and developing employees
Excellent Excel skills, NetSuite experience is a plus
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills
Comfortable working cross-functionally and supporting leadership-level decisions
Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Travel up to 20% per year
Salary: $120-130 + bonus potential; work onsite in the headquarters
